Gifted & Talented

Iron Horse utilizes the DCSD identification process to identify students who are gifted and talented. This process involves utilizing a body of evidence through which the Gifted and Talented team determines eligibility. Students who are identified as Gifted/Talented have differentiated content, process, and/or product outcomes that are taught and monitored by their classroom teacher and by the Iron Horse Gifted/Talented facilitator. Each child has an Advanced Learning Plan that is written by the GT facilitator with input from the classroom teacher, student (if applicable) and the parents, and has annual goals that the student works on throughout the year to help ensure their learning needs are being met.
