Reading time in our class consists of: small reading groups, shared reading, read aloud with a purpose, independent reading, iReady reading lessons, independent reading activities, and more.

During first semester, we will be focusing on:

Apply strategies to comprehend and interpret literary texts.

Apply knowledge of spelling patterns (orthography) and word meanings (morphology) to decode multisyllable words and determine the meaning of unknown words. 

Pose thoughtful questions after actively listening to others.

Create a plan to effectively present information informally and formally.
