Administration & Office Staff

Jenna Munoz - Principal

Hello, my name is Jenna Munoz and I am thrilled and honored to serve as the proud Principal of Iron Horse Elementary! It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated and professional staff.  At Iron Horse, we strive to provide a rigorous, standards based curriculum focused on students and their individual needs. We believe in educating the whole child focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth.

I enjoy all of the activities Parker has to offer and love living here and being a part of the Parker culture.  I have been in education for 23 years and have been in administration for five years. My bachelor's degree is in Psychology and I received my teaching license and Master’s degree from the University of Colorado, Denver. I received my Administration license from Lamar University in 2016. I have had the honor of teaching several primary grades as well as STEM. As a leader, my focus is on supporting the whole child and valuing the unique gifts and talents each student brings to Iron Horse. I have a strong literacy background and value rigorous, targeted instruction. I also know how important it is to meet our student’s social and emotional needs and look forward to partnering with our community, staff, and students to create a safe, warm, and welcoming learning environment.

I am married to my husband Andy of 24 years. Together we love to travel and spend time with our family. I am the proud parent of two children. My son Brendan just graduated from Legend (go Titans!) and is pursuing his degree in aviation and becoming a commercial pilot. Ash is a senior at Legend and enjoys tech theater and art. We share our home with our cat Socks who mostly runs the house! In my spare time I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado!

As the proud principal of Iron Horse, I will strive to meet the unique needs of every child.

I believe in open and frequent communication. If you should need anything, please feel free to contact me by email/phone or by stopping by IHE. My email is [email protected] and my phone number is 303-387-8525. It is through working together that we will succeed in bringing the best educational opportunities to your child.

Sherri Carlson - Assistant Principal

Welcome!  I am blessed to continue this year at IHE in the role as one of our assistant principals.  I began my career by receiving a B.A. degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Psychology. I then continued my education and received a teaching license from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a M.A. in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver. I spent 18 years as a classroom teacher and literacy specialist before moving into school administration.  This is my 27th year in education. I strive to know all of our students and value the connections I make with them.

I am a Colorado native who married my high school sweetheart 24 years ago. Together, we have twin girls who are freshman in college. One is studying aviation in flight science, and the other is pursuing nursing. In my free time, I love the outdoor experiences Colorado has to offer. In the summer, my family rides four-wheelers and motorcycles, camps, and plays golf together. In the winter, we ski, backcountry snowmobile, and spend as much time as we can in the mountains.

I am grateful for the opportunity to begin another new school year and look forward to being part of an extraordinary school building everlasting relationships with IHE families.

Janet Nolan - Administrative Assistant

Welcome to our neighborhood school! I am a Colorado native! My favorite Colorado destinations are Durango, Glenwood Springs, and Marble (love that white marble). My husband and I first saw each other in middle school. Our paths crossed again just a year after my high school graduation when we began to date. We have three grown children and 2 dogs. I have worked in two front range school districts and am so exited to be here in Douglas County!  I am happy to assist our families through out the school year.  Feel free to reach out at any time.

Angie Chesher - Registrar

I'm Angie Chesher and I am the Registrar at Iron Horse.  I love working with students and parents in my neighborhood school. My daughter went to Iron Horse, she is now in high school.  My husband and I met in college in Missouri.  We spent twenty years traveling the world because he was in the U.S. Air Force and I found Programming jobs along the way.  His last active duty assignment was Buckley Air Force Base, from which he retired.  We love spending time in the mountains and skiing.  I also enjoy refinishing furniture, watching sports, and traveling.

Jennifer Harbison - Health Assistant
Hi I am the Health Assistant and loving this new challenge. I have worked in education for over thirty years and enjoy learning something new from our amazing students every day! I am blessed with a wonderful husband and three grown children. In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, sports, crafting, puzzles and cooking!

Carlos Ayala - Building Engineer

Hi! I'm Carlos, the Building Engineer at Iron Horse Elementary! Even though I grew up in warm and sunny Mexico, I love living in Colorado. I love that the weather is so different here and can change in a matter of minutes. I have four kids and three grandkids that I like to spend time with. I love to watch action movies, but Grease is my favorite movie. I also enjoy building and fixing things, including drones, remote control cars, and my own car. I'm looking forward to seeing you around school soon!
