Arrival, Dismissal, and Parking Lot Procedures

Arrival and Dismissal:

Iron Horse has had tremendous success with our rolling start. School hours (Monday-Thursday) are 8:35 a.m. until 3:25 p.m. The front doors will be opened 15 minutes before classes begin (8:20 a.m.), and students will be supervised as they enter the building. They will be directed to their classrooms where their teacher will be waiting for them, and will begin their school day as soon as they arrive. We ask that parents please drop their students off at the front door and not accompany their children into the building, allowing our staff to focus their attention on students. Because we do not have supervision earlier than 15 minutes before school, please refrain from dropping off your students earlier than this time.

At arrival, all students are to line up at the main front doors (by the flag pole). Students may not play on the playground before school, there is no supervision in this area.

We dismiss at 3:25pm. Walkers/bus riders will exit campus and head to their destinations. Car riders will stay with their classroom teachers at the front of the building near the drop off zone until they see a parent/guardian is waiting.

Absolutely NO cell phone use is allowed during arrival/dismissal for the safety of all of our students, staff, and the community.

Pet Policy:

Although we LOVE our pets, please remember that dogs are not allowed on campus (with the exception of service animals). This is a DCSD policy for all schools.
