Administration & Office Staff

Jenna Munoz - Principal

Hello, my name is Jenna Munoz and I am thrilled and honored to serve as the proud Principal of Iron Horse Elementary! It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated and professional staff.  At Iron Horse, we strive to provide a rigorous, standards based curriculum focused on students and their individual needs. We believe in educating the whole child focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth.

I enjoy all of the activities Parker has to offer and love living here and being a part of the Parker culture.  I have been in education for 22 years and have been in administration for four years. My bachelor's degree is in Psychology and I received my teaching license and Master’s degree from the University of Colorado, Denver. I received my Administration license from Lamar University in 2016. I have had the honor of teaching several primary grades as well as STEM. As a leader, my focus is on supporting the whole child and valuing the unique gifts and talents each student brings to Iron Horse. I have a strong literacy background and value rigorous, targeted instruction. I also know how important it is to meet our student’s social and emotional needs and look forward to partnering with our community, staff, and students to create a safe, warm, and welcoming learning environment.

I am married to my husband Andy of 23 years. Together we love to travel and spend time with our family. I am the proud parent of two children. My son Brendan just graduated from Legend (go Titans!) and is pursuing his degree in aviation and becoming a commercial pilot. Ash is a junior at Legend and enjoys tech theater and art. We share our home with our cat Socks who mostly runs the house! In my spare time I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado!

As the proud principal of Iron Horse, I will strive to meet the unique needs of every child.

I believe in open and frequent communication. If you should need anything, please feel free to contact me by email/phone or by stopping by IHE. My email is and my phone number is 303-387-8525. It is through working together that we will succeed in bringing the best educational opportunities to your child.

Sherri Carlson - Assistant Principal

Welcome!  I am blessed to continue this year at IHE in the role as one of our assistant principals.  I began my career by receiving a B.A. degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Psychology. I then continued my education and received a teaching license from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a M.A. in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado at Denver. I spent 18 years as a classroom teacher and literacy specialist before moving into school administration.  This is my 26th year in education. I strive to know all of our students and value the connections I make with them.

I am a Colorado native who married my high school sweetheart 23 years ago. Together, we have twin girls who are seniors at Legend High School this year. In my free time, I love the outdoor experiences Colorado has to offer. In the summer, my family rides four-wheelers and motorcycles, and play golf together. In the winter, we ski, backcountry snowmobile, and spend as much time as we can in the mountains.

I am grateful for the opportunity to begin another new school year and look forward to being part of an extraordinary school building everlasting relationships with IHE families.

Kim Betschart - Assistant Principal

I am so thankful to be a part of the community and staff at IHE! I began my career in DCSD in 1999 as an elementary educator. Throughout the years, I have taught all grade levels as a teacher and literacy specialist. I spent 5 years as an elementary art teacher as well. My current role is to develop, mentor, and train teachers in our district. I focus on individual needs of educators and tailor their professional development to meet their goals and needs. My undergraduate degree is actually a B.S. in Nutritional Science from San Diego State University. This granted me the opportunity to teach health science to kids and I was hooked! I  followed this passion (and my husband) to Colorado in 1997, where I pursued an Elementary Education License from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I later received my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy, and Educational Leadership/Administration Certification from Colorado State University Global. I have lived in Parker for 25 years and love all things about Colorado. The sunshine and outdoors fill my bucket fully. I enjoy boating, water sports, snowboarding, hiking, and anything to do with art. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years. We have three kids who are in Douglas County Schools. Two at Legend Highschool (one about to graduate and go on to college at UNC), and one at Cimarron. I strongly believe that education opens doors for everyone, and literacy is the link to freedom and the ability to access information as an adult to make informed decisions. The ability to help students become literate and passionate about different content areas is so rewarding. I feel blessed every day to get to work with kids. They make me laugh, smile, and keep me energized to make education wonderful for them!

Janet Nolan - Administrative Assistant

Welcome to our neighborhood school! I am a Colorado native! My favorite Colorado destinations are Durango, Glenwood Springs, and Marble (love that white marble). My husband and I first saw each other in middle school. Our paths crossed again just a year after my high school graduation when we began to date. We have three grown children and 2 dogs. I have worked in two front range school districts and am so exited to be here in Douglas County!  I am happy to assist our families through out the school year.  Feel free to reach out at any time.

Angie Chesher - Registrar

I'm Angie Chesher and I am the Registrar at Iron Horse.  I love working with students and parents in my neighborhood school. My daughter went to Iron Horse, she is now in high school.  My husband and I met in college in Missouri.  We spent twenty years traveling the world because he was in the U.S. Air Force and I found Programming jobs along the way.  His last active duty assignment was Buckley Air Force Base, from which he retired.  We love spending time in the mountains and skiing.  I also enjoy refinishing furniture, watching sports, and traveling.

Suzanne Collier - Health Assistant

Hi! I’m Suzanne Collier, and I am the new health assistant. I have spent many hours over the last eight years volunteering in the schools, and I am excited to officially join the Iron Horse family. My family and I moved to Colorado nine years ago. We love it here. My husband and I met in college and are celebrating 19 years of marriage. We have five daughters who keep us happy and busy. I love to spend time with my family, bake, read, watch movies, and do nails. I have loved the time I have been able to spend at Iron Horse, and I look forward to getting to know and serve the students, families, and staff.

Carlos Ayala - Building Engineer

Hi! I'm Carlos, the Building Engineer at Iron Horse Elementary! Even though I grew up in warm and sunny Mexico, I love living in Colorado. I love that the weather is so different here and can change in a matter of minutes. I have four kids and three grandkids that I like to spend time with. I love to watch action movies, but Grease is my favorite movie. I also enjoy building and fixing things, including drones, remote control cars, and my own car. I'm looking forward to seeing you around school soon!
