What We're Learning
Literacy: We have started practicing reading groups! During this time, students work in small groups doing a variety of activities: guided reading with the teacher, working on writing, word work, listening to reading, and reading to themselves or with a buddy.

Math:
We are working on 2-D and 3-D shapes. We're learning about sides, vertices, faces, and edges. Students are also learning how to put multiple shapes together to create another, larger shape. For example, one rhombus and two triangles can be put together to make a trapezoid. Our next unit is telling time to the hour!

Social Studies:
Students have been learning to read calendars and create timelines for events using the vocabulary of past, present, and future. Be on the lookout for details on a fun upcoming project!

Mind Up:
As a school, we are working on being more mindful and expressing our feelings and emotions in productive ways. Students are learning about their PFC (pre-frontal cortex), amygdala, and hippocampus. and what role each plays in our brain.
