Homework and Missing Work 

Students are expected to complete their homework each night. Assignments, such as math sheets, should be turned in the next day after assigned. Students should be reading for 20 minutes each night and practicing their math facts. If your student does not complete the work or does not turn it in by Friday, they will be asked to come in for Friday Afternoon Club to complete their work instead of Friday Free Time. 

Absent Work 

If your child misses school for whatever reason, they are still expected to make up the work they miss once they return back to school. If they are going to be absent for an extended amount of time, please contact me so that we can set up a plan so your student doesn't fall too far behind. Any missed work will be given to your student once they return back to school.  

Birthday Celebrations 

Birthdays are an exciting day! We will have a small celebration at the end of the day from 3:00-3:10 on their birthday. We will sing Happy Birthday and they can pick a class game they would like to play. Since we have so many different allergies in the room, we can not bring treats in to celebrate. You can bring other little gifts, such as fun pencils or stickers, if you would like to replace a food treat. Just let me know a day or two before!   

Leaving School Early

If your student will be leaving for the day at an early time, please let me know in advance if possible. This allows me to get work together for them to complete that night. Please make sure to also let the office know. 

Lightning and Early Releases 

If the school goes into a lightning or early release, please know that you will have to sign your child out from the classroom. I will have a sheet out that needs to be signed so that all the kids are accounted for. If we are in a lightning release, students will not be allowed to walk home until the weather is cleared. If we have an early release, walkers and bus riders will not be released until the typical end of day time.
